What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
“There is a little bit of the whore in all of us, gentlemen. What is your price? “
It’s a game where the word ‘gentle’ is gone, man is still there, and ‘money’ is in. The Asian subcontinent has been playing this game since colonial times.
I’m not a sport-worm. My interest in sports lasted till watching a sports channel whilst surfing. Any interesting situation just holds me for some time, the title of the game doesn’t matter till my mood swings.

Cricket however impacts youngsters who’ve not smelt the flavor of running commentary on the radio in the early morning and till late night. Looks conservative, no! I’m grudging because the true essence of the game remained with the test match till match-fixing surfaced in the aftermath of Kerrie Packer’s entry shook the cricketing world, “There is a little bit of the whore in all of us, gentlemen. What is your price?” was his famous line. Traverse ways of money-making are believed to have indulged in cricket since Packer’s Cricket Council came into existence.
This all lamenting relates to the present day IPL, a purely commercial league intended for encashing everything in the name of cricket. Business tycoons have cordoned off the soul of the game. Players are sold. Talent is robotised. Tournaments are fixed. Suspicion is prevailing on every delivery on the ground.
Finally, there’s no point going backward in the direction nor deserve to bring obstacles in the ongoing world. Things are happening the other way. IPL pounds an unprecedented flow of money. The economy is a big six in the game. Originality is stumped and every player is caught behind. But this is destiny; an irreversible phenomenon.
So, let’s enjoy the game Or be Retired Hurt.
