Bonsai Tree

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

That was a ‘love at first sight’ the moment I saw a beautifully grown banyan tree.

My city is prominently known for the acres of land covered with the banyan trees. The name Vadodara is derived from the local lexicon; history not far, suggested internetting of Sanskrit word with Gujarati over a few centuries.

How come the hobby in the banyan tree is stuck? That love was for a Bonsai grown of an infant banyan tree. The imitation of a large tree in a small round shaped container stole my heart in a bit of time. It was, if I recall, some twenty five years back.

I couldn’t but launch myself for making bonsai. The love still remained embedded within until another writing platform asked for the hobby. The hidden feelings once again grew out and blossomed for trying a bonsai, yep, a bonsai of a banyan tree.

The sentiments have stuck in the yard. No more bonsai in the front yard. But lovingly I’m looking after my only baby banyan tree.

Planting is a beautiful hobby to spend time but I love writing and reading 👌
