Profound knowledge of Hinduism and secured capability of delivering a clear message to the world was an impressive attribute of the Late Swami Vivekananda. He earned credibility out of his speeches regarding the Hindu way of living across the world in a very short life.

Hinduism as a world religion: Swami Vivekananda played an impressive role in introducing Vedanta to the western part of the sphere. His address to the Parliament of the World’s Religion in Chicago in 1893 uncovered many aspects of Hinduism to the Americans. Vivekananda categorically conveyed that Vedanta is an ancient Hindu philosophy that believes in the entire world as a single family. Acceptance of all races and tolerance of every religious doctrine dwells in the heart of Hinduism. His scholarly footnotes parallel both in a commendable way. This gesture by Vivekananda is noble proof of tolerance and equal love for other creeds as stated in Hinduism.

In the lecture of Christ, the Messenger that he delivered in Los Angeles in the year 1900 he said, “If I as an oriental have to worship Jesus of Nazareth, there is only one way, that is, to worship him as God and nothing else.” He further said somewhere else that the attainment of Salvation by realizing the Supreme Authority of the universe is the same as described by ancient Greeks and by Shree Krishna in Bhagavad Gita.

AUM and its meaning: Swami Vivekananda termed the word AUM as the greatest which means the absolute. The sacred word om or AUM is the one word and one sound of all prevailing sounds of the universe. This is also manifested as the origin of the universe and the first sound rang therein. By Hinduism, AUM is not only the center and essence of all sounds but also regarded as the infinite sound. Hence, AUM is from creation to infinity being the essence of every mantra and word is the supreme manifestation of God. Meaningfully the first letter A defines the origin of the universe, creation. The same way Swami Vivekananda believed in the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

The charming personality of Swami Vivekananda: The aura and the radiance of Vivekananda were so convincing that many girls from India and abroad proposed to him for marriage. On asking why you wanted to marry me, a non-Indian girl replied to Vivekananda that she wanted her child to be as smart and intelligent as him. The mesmerizing oratorship and overall personality of Swami Vivekananda was unmatched. The robust character that he built was the result of his enormous reading in various subjects. He devoted his life as a torch-bearer of Hinduism and as a monk to harmonize the world for the betterment of all. The gigantic self-confidence Swami Vivekananda gathered from his profound knowledge.
